Responsible coverage
What this document covers
comelivesports is an editorial publication. We do not take bets, run affiliate tipster codes, or publish picks in exchange for payment. This document explains how we report on the topics where editorial responsibility matters most: gambling, youth sport, athlete welfare, and the lines we will not cross.
Gambling
- We do not cover gambling as a hobby or a lifestyle. We cover the gambling industry as a business and as a regulated activity.
- We do not publish affiliate tipster codes or picks-for-sale. We do not promote gambling operators.
- We label gambling-related content clearly and avoid glamourising gambling in our photography or headlines.
- We do not target readers under 18 with gambling-related content.
Youth sport
- We report on youth sport with the same standards as senior sport: sources, attribution, corrections.
- We do not name youth athletes in stories about gambling, doping or off-field controversy without explicit editorial review.
- We do not publish photographs of youth athletes in a way that identifies their school, home or training location.
Athlete welfare
- We report on athlete welfare issues with care and rigour. Mental health, injury, burnout and personal loss are covered with the same standards as on-field reporting.
- We do not publish rumours about an athlete's personal life without verified sourcing.
- We do not publish photographs that intrude on an athlete's private life.
The lines we will not cross
- We will not publish content that targets or exploits vulnerable readers.
- We will not publish content that promotes self-harm, suicide or disordered eating.
- We will not publish content that incites violence against any individual or group.
- We will not publish content that discriminates on the basis of race, gender, sexuality, religion, disability or nationality.
