Editorial standards

Our standards, in plain language

comelivesports is a small editorial desk. The standards below are the rules the desk runs on. They are public so that readers can hold us to them, and so that the desk can hold itself to them.

Sourcing

  • We name our sources. Quotes carry the publication; statistics carry the period and provider.
  • We do not paraphrase unattributed speculation. If a rumour cannot be sourced to a named outlet, we do not publish it as fact.
  • We treat every tip as off the record until verified with named sources.
  • We will not burn a reader source. If you ask us to keep your name out of a story, we will.

Attribution

  • Every article carries the byline of the editor or reporter who wrote it.
  • Statistics are labelled with the provider and the period. "Last five matches" or "season-to-date" — never floating numbers.
  • Quotes are reproduced in the original wording. We do not paraphrase a non-answer into a quote, and we do not paraphrase a joke into a policy.

Corrections

  • Corrections are public, dated, and linked back to the original article.
  • Corrections go out the same day we confirm the error.
  • The corrections log lives at /legal/corrections/.

Predictions

  • Predictions are evidence-led. Form, availability, likely shape, source notes.
  • We pick a window (last five, last ten, season-to-date) and stick to it.
  • We state the uncertainty. Where there is no read, we say so.
  • The full methodology is at /legal/prediction-methodology/.

Fantasy reads

  • Selection reads are reasoned, not guaranteed. We say when we are uncertain.
  • We do not sell picks, run affiliate tipster codes, or publish picks in exchange for payment.
  • Bankroll discipline and time-on-task matter more than headline picks.

Photography

  • Photography is published with descriptive alt text, captions and credit.
  • We do not publish photographs with fabricated captions, fabricated credits, or staged content.
  • We do not generate or commission photographs that depict real athletes in fabricated scenes.

Editorial and commercial separation

  • Editorial decisions are made by the desk editors, not by advertisers or partners.
  • We do not accept payment for coverage. Coverage is bought by the subscriber, not by an advertiser.
  • We do not run affiliate tipster codes. We do not publish picks for payment.

How to hold us to these standards

If you spot something that falls short of these standards, please tell us. Use [email protected] or the contact page. We will publish the correction and explain what changed.
