Format

The UEFA Champions League is the top-tier European club knockout competition. The group stage runs from September to December with eight groups of four teams each, qualifying the top two to the Round of 16. The knockout phase runs from February to May, with the final hosted by the selected city each year.

This season, the final will be held in Budapest on 31 May. The Round of 16 draw was made in December, with the first legs running through February and the second legs in March.
